Student Accounts for RTFTS Client

When you are ready to run the RTFTS Client with your class you should do the following:

i.          Email ftsweb@gmail.com (Attention:  Class Request)

ii.          What case do you want to run?  You should indicate the trading case you are interested in (e.g., Dow School Case, S&P100 plus options case, etc.,).  If you are unsure just send a brief description of the type of case you would like to run (markets, the nature of your course etc.,.  If you send your course outline then the FTS academics can help you with integrating FTS into your course at your planning stage.

iii.         How many students in your class?  or how many teams do you want to run?  This will determine how many trading accounts you need.  If you have particular Trading Name/password requests then include this information as the class accounts will be set up this way.  For example, some instructors use student specific information as a password so that grade sheets and identification is easy (to the professor and or TA’s).  Important:  Student specific information should be submitted in an Excel workbook.

iv.         Starting Dates and ending dates if you have firm dates in mind otherwise skip this information.  In addition, if reset dates are important to you then this should also be indicated.  For example, a useful tip is that first you let your class practice for a week or two before starting any class project.  If this is the case then all student positions would be reset one or two weeks into your course.  You can request positions to be reset at any time so long as you allow for 24-hours notice to FTS.

v.          Any other specific requests that you have in mind (e.g., initial Cash position, plus any additional restrictions you would like to impose).

Important:  We require at least 24-hours advance notice for student accounts, position resets for practice etc.,  This is because during trading hours we maintain 99.99% up time and thus it is out of trading hours that we do server updates etc.,.  As a result, new accounts or changes to existing accounts can always be made overnight.
